The whole card is painted like a page from a bedtime storybook. A crescent moon and stars hang in a deep navy sky, and a dense woodland of ferns, leaves, lilac flowers, purple berries and spotted mushrooms rises from the bottom, lit by tiny glowing fireflies and a small lantern.
Tucked into the undergrowth are a bunny, a fox and a fawn, painted in soft gouache with a subtle paper grain, calm and tender rather than cartoonish. The animals and plants frame the text instead of competing with it.
The headline is set in a warm cream storybook serif, with the details below in muted lilac capitals. There are no pink or blue cues, so it suits any baby and works for a surprise or a gender-neutral shower.
